Welcome to New Insights into HE, an educational website developed for hepatologists, gastroenterologists, doctors of internal medicine, physicians and other healthcare providers with an interest in improving the identification and management of patients with hepatic encephalopathy (HE).
Nurses and other healthcare providers may find some of this content appropriate, but are directed to the HEFastFacts area for education which may be more appropriate as an introduction to this topic.
This website has eight core educational ‘Modules’ which were developed by the New
Insights Steering Committee faculty. These modules review the pathogenesis of HE,
the burden on patients and healthcare resources and appropriate diagnosis and management.
There are also interactive, case-based activities, to help you consider how you
will apply the information presented, and a summary of the must know literature
in the field.
Modules 1-7 will take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. Module 8 will take approximately 60 minutes to complete, plus the time taken to evaluate the content and complete the post-activity test for each module.
Please also access the ‘Updates’ tab for updates and highlights of the latest data
which will ensure you remain informed and up-to-date about HE.
